My Approach to Helping

I help folks heal from the past, and find peace in the present! Post-traumatic growth is an important idea for therapy: we, as humans, are confronted with pains (trauma, loss, abuse or otherwise) that change us in deep ways. If we get stuck somewhere in the experience, we carry with us fear, self-doubt, shame or guilt, anxiety, resentment, or hopelessness. My goal is to lean in, get curious, and work through these experiences - my clients notice they actually come out stronger and more whole than they ever were before! I love what I do, because I help people find and trust themselves again. There is freedom as we move through past experiences that previously held us back. Helping my clients grow in self-compassion, connection, and self-worth is one of the most rewarding parts of the work.

While I deeply value my work with everyone I see, I offer special support to women, people who are historically disempowered, those with experiences of family addiction, and college students of all backgrounds. At this time, I am taking new individuals and couples.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I love the human experience. It is profound in its surprises, rhythms, heartbreaks, and ultimate joys. I have found this work is exactly what I was made to do, and I enjoy it every day.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Looking at ourselves in the mirror is some of the bravest work we can do as humans. It's too easy to try to look outward, blame others, or contort ourselves into what others want to avoid conflict - but that's not what we're here to do! Authenticity, new energy, and healing comes from diving into the shadows. There is nothing weak here - getting to know ourselves, learning to accept and love the self, is rich, honest, and hugely rewarding.
