My Approach to Helping

We want to heal and thrive. Yet what makes healing possible? This has been a driving question for Amanda Spanbauer throughout her life. Healing is truly in Amanda’s DNA and clients find her warmth, calmness, and compassion deeply nourishing. She believes in the innate capacity of each person to heal, grow, and thrive.

Amanda Spanbauer is a National Certified Counselor. She has a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. Edward’s University, located in Austin, Texas. She also received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art History and Studio Arts from the University of Colorado Boulder. Amanda utilizes techniques from Compassion Focused Therapy, Existential Psychology, Contemplative Psychologies, and Person-Centered Therapy.

Amanda Spanbauer has worked in the Healing Arts for the past 20 years. It is that wealth of experience that has informed her integrated and holistic perspective on healing. During this time, she began to see the power of emotions and thoughts in the healing process and made the choice to pursue a Master’s Degree in Counseling. She is also a life-long artist and loves to bring creativity into the counseling process whenever possible.
