My Approach to Helping
Ry Shavlik has a Master of Science Degree in Social Work with a Clinical Concentration from Portland State University. She also has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Developmental and Family Science with a Concentration in Child Development and a Minor in Communication from Purdue University. Ry utilizes a variety of modalities, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS).
Ry has been involved in helping adults and teens for the better part of the last decade. She started her work with middle school students and, over the years, has expanded to working with adults. Ry’s love for psychology and serving others led her to change career paths from engineering to counseling. She has professional experience with crisis management and addiction recovery. Ry is passionate about helping others overcome life transitions, daily challenges, and relationship struggles.
