My Approach to Helping

As a parent, it can be troubling or even scary when you see your child struggling with behavioral issues, anxiety, and depressed mood. I have extensive expertise and training in working with children and their families who have experienced traumatic events or struggle with disruptive behavior patterns. I provide play therapy to children who may be struggling with issues associated with trauma, anxiety, self-esteem, self-harming, parent-child conflicts, etc. I give parents strategies to help reconnect and heal their relationships with their children that may have been disrupted by uncontrollable events. Why play therapy? Well, watch the first video to see how play therapy can help your child heal or manage their stressors.
I also have a passion for working with individuals who seek healing through EMDR. EMDR was originally created for client's who have experienced trauma, but now it has been shown to provide client's with relief from anxiety, depression, complicated grief, emotional disturbances and so much more! EMDR can provide relief from these issues much quicker than traditional talk therapy. Please watch the second video on my profile to find out how EMDR can help you find relief from the issues you may be struggling with.

More Info About My Practice

I treat every client as an individual and tailor my therapeutic approach to their needs. I am a certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and fully trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) working towards being a certified EMDR therapist. I am directive and eclectic in my approach to therapy and I believe in creating a safe space where the client can heal their mind, body, and spirit as a whole. I am certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy and although I am not currently practicing this model, I frequently use PCIT skills with parents who struggle to manage their child's challenging behaviors.
Please feel free to call me for a free phone consultation.
