My Approach to Helping
Hi! My name is Alyssa Williams (sheher), I am the proud founder of Project Rise Counseling & Advocacy LLC. I am a recent 2023 graduate from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, obtaining my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. I am a pre-licensed clinician supervised by a licensed professional Alisa Trout, LMFT.
I believe that every individual no matter what path they have taken to get to where they are now in life deserves to be heard, seen and empowered. I show unconditional positive regard to every client. What does that mean? I see light and potential in every client no matter their values or actions. Why? An individual is not going to be able to unpack their burden's if they worry that their therapist is going to look or think of them differently once they begin to disclose.
My approach as a therapist is a person-centered approach and strength based. I am also trained in CBT and integrate different interventions to meet client needs. I strive to create an open safe space for individuals to be their authentic-self and receive acceptance, kindness, and support. My goal for you is to give you the space you deserve to show the most authentic version of yourself feeling supported and empowered.
The therapeutic alliance I believe is a collaborative one because you are the only expert of you. Client's work collaboratively with me to create the goals we will work towards. By the end of treatment, I want clients to have a strengthened sense of self as well as resilience, tools and techniques.
Using clients' insights, strengths and resilience I support and help our clients become the people they wish to be. My favorite part of supporting client's is supporting them in self-discovery and strengthening their sense of self. I strongly believe in providing high quality services to all individuals and affirming the dignity, worth and value of all.
Whether you are looking for extra support during a challenging situation, or you simply want to change directions in your life, I look forward to establishing a collaborative empowering relationship. I offer daytime, evening and weekend sessions!
