What's My Approach to Therapy?
I work with individuals and couples in Philadelphia who are ready to heal from past hurt, improve communication, become better versions of themselves, and feel more emotionally connected. Whether you’re coping with anxiety, depression, betrayal, or burnout, therapy can help you slow down, understand your emotions, and feel grounded again. If you’re feeling distant, overwhelmed, misunderstood, or just unsure how to rebuild trust and closeness, it's okay. Together, we’ll create space for healing, growth, and meaningful change that lasts.
I specialize in emotionally focused and relational therapy with mindfulness to support individuals and couples through attachments, trust issues, communication, big life transitions, and more. In our work, you’ll learn to process your emotions, break old patterns, and create new ways of connecting that bring more peace, security, and understanding.
Therapy with me feels like a calm, caring conversation—warm, genuine, and judgment-free. Change takes courage, but you don’t have to do it alone. As a Medicaid-accepted therapist in Philadelphia, I’m here to support your healing and connection.
My Practice & Services
Dunbar Community Counseling Services is a community outpatient clinic serving individuals with Medicaid insurance in Philadelphia County. Services are available in school, home, in-office, and via telehealth. For insurance verification and next steps, please send an email or call the office directly. If you decide to call, the hours of operation for both offices are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. EST.
As a pre-licensed marriage and family therapist (MFT) providing virtual sessions, I support individuals navigating relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, and other life stressors. In our telehealth work together, we’ll explore the underlying emotions shaping your experiences, identify unhelpful patterns, and develop practical coping strategies for daily life. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and focused on long-term healing, not quick fixes. You can expect to gain clarity, strengthen communication, build confidence, and create healthier, more fulfilling relationships, all from the comfort and privacy of your own space.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
Choosing the right therapist is about more than credentials. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I encourage clients to consider a therapist?s approach, specialties, and communication style. Do they have experience with your specific concerns?such as relationship conflict, anxiety, trauma, or life transitions? Notice how you feel during the first session: safe, heard, and understood? A strong therapeutic alliance is one of the biggest predictors of success. It?s also important to find someone who respects your values, culture, and goals. Therapy works best when you feel comfortable being honest and vulnerable in a supportive, nonjudgmental space.
