My Approach to Helping

Not currently accepting new clients. My name is Alexander Kohl and I have a PhD in Clinical Psychology and am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I offer a welcoming, warm space where my clients feel respected, heard, and safe. I'm skilled at emotion-focused, systemic, and client-centered therapeutic approaches, and may incorporate other orientations based on your needs. Whether you're struggling with everyday stress or need help with specific challenges, I hope to help you find solutions that help you achieve your goals.

My primary areas of interest and expertise are anxiety, addiction, and depression. I have worked with a wide range of populations to address a variety of issues. A strong, trusting relationship with your therapist is just as important as your therapist's skill and experience. I work hard to understand your world and your goals.

In addition to my training as a psychotherapist, I have undergone extensive training in clinical neuropsychology. I also hold a master's degree in behavioral and neural sciences. I often incorporate advanced biofeedback and neurotherapy into my sessions, helping you to achieve a calmer state of mind by reducing stress.
I am currently accepting new appointments and am available on weekdays and weekends. The fee per session is $70-150 and I offer a sliding scale and can match most insurance co-pays.

My primary focus is you. Choosing to obtain therapy services is a healthy and proactive decision that I would be honored to take part in. Everyone is different, and those differences are what make us unique. My goal is to develop a strong therapeutic relationship with you so that we can explore those differences and enable you to grow and change in a positive direction. Therapy is useful for those in crisis, as well as those experiencing daily life struggles, and I will do everything I can to help you develop and achieve your goals in therapy.

Dual diagnosis, Concussion, Addiction, Substance Abuse, Depression, Anxiety
