My Approach to Helping
I believe that everyone deserves a space to feel heard as they navigate in a new direction, away from feeling disconnected, stuck, and isolated. I will collaborate with you by helping you identify and shift negative or limiting perceptions, in order to create room instead for empowering perspectives that can better serve you going forward. I provide a safe, supportive, and warm environment as you begin to face whatever obstacles that initially brought you to therapy, and help you manage the conflicting feelings that often accompany this process.
I particularly enjoy working with individuals who wish to improve their relationship with movement/exercise for the purpose of feeling more connected and safe in their bodies (athletes and non-athletes alike). Perhaps you are a competitive athlete on a sports team currently or in the past, and are struggling with setbacks in performance, identity, or overall mindset. You may also struggle with disordered eating, or are in recovery from an eating disorder, and are looking to achieve a more balanced relationship with an old sport or your current physical activity.
My approach is strengths-based and collaborative, and I pull from a variety of therapy models including DBT, attachment-based, family systems, and narrative therapy.
If you are ready to receive the support and accountability needed in getting unstuck, feel free to contact me via phone or email.
