Mental Health in Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City leaders in law enforcement, the health department, and the judicial system wish to tackle overcrowding in city jails. They plan to establish a program to assist low-level offenders who may not need to be behind bars. Community health workers will use a shared database to identify inmates in need of mental health care, basic medical care, food, or housing. Health workers will then connect the inmates with those services.
