How Psychotherapy Can Help
Psychotherapy helps clients develop goals and focus on solutions to life adjustments, behavioral issues, emotional disturbances and mental illness.
My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
The purpose of psychotherapy is to help clients - couples, families, and individuals - with adjustment difficulties, behavioral problems, emotional difficulties, personal growth and symptoms of mental illness. This help begins with the establishment of a relationship between the clients and therapist, which is both educational and supportive. Through this relationship, clients learn strategies and techniques for making improvements in their lives.
