We all have the answers we need within us, but often those answers are hidden behind old patterns, emotional reactions, and beliefs we have about ourselves and our world. I can help you discover what is keeping you from knowing your own truth, and support you in following the path that is right for you. By connecting with the wisdom of your body, we can release body memories that keep you stuck in old patterns so that you can truly transform those patterns into something that supports, enlivens, and brings joy to your life.

My methods are body centered which means that the body is included in the therapeutic exploration. As stories are explored, we connect the emotions and body sensations to find our way to the origins and to your solutions to the current issue.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

People are sometimes scared of therapy. It feels unsafe, or too vulnerable. My experience of therapy, both as a therapist and as a client, is that the session is a unique opportunity to explore challenging beliefs or experiences, in a safe, supportive environment. So many of us have not been supported in one or more areas of our lives. Therapy provides that unique experience of being safe, accepted, supported, and celebrated, without judgement or expectations. This allows you, the client, to connect with more of yourself, which allows for a sense of wholeness. From this wholeness the you can feel your own power, strength, choice, and joy, and from those strengths make the decisions that are best for your life.

My Role as a Therapist

My role is to provide a safe environment that allows clients to connect with all the parts of themselves, those they are aware of and may not want to connect with (i.e., emotions) and those they may not be aware of (i.e., body sensations/reactions, beliefs). In connecting with all parts of themselves, clients can access deeper truths than they are normally aware of, such as underlying beliefs about safety, value, or their sense of themselves. This connection creates a true transformation in a situation so that the client sees/feels/believes something differently than before that allows more freedom or peace.

I believe that this is the true purpose of psychotherapy. To assist the client in connecting with their own sense of wholeness, so that they can feel their own power, strength, will and joy, and from there, make the decisions that are best for their lives.

My Therapy Focus

My practice is body centered which means that we include the bodies wisdom in our exploration of any issue. The body expresses those things that we don't have words for. So we want to bring our attention to it, and listen. For example, if there is chest tension when talking about a situation at work, we would explore that tension and what it is trying to say. Perhaps it's pulling in telling us that there is a threat. Or perhaps it's a holding telling us that we're not expressing what we need to express. Or perhaps it's saying that our heart is not in this work, that it wants something else. What the body has to say is as unique as each body so we need to inquire to hear it's message.
