My Approach to Helping
Anxious? Overwhelmed? Heartbroken? Betrayed? Hopeless? It's people just like you that I've seen regularly for the past 15 years, and whom I have helped to find hope, healing and clarity. It's my passion to work with individuals coping with anxiety and depression, struggling with relationships or a betrayal, healing from a loss of a loved one, needing help with career issues, recovering from addiction, and seeking help with spiritual issues or church hurt.
My counseling style is active, engaging and collaborative, using an approach that integrates proven therapeutic concepts and techniques. My graduate degree in Counseling is from Johns Hopkins University. I am a licensed professional counselor in the states of Maryland and Pennsylvania, a Nationally-Certified Counselor and a Board Approved Supervisor in Maryland. I am also a member of the Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors of Maryland. My continuing education includes certifications in couples work, trauma and supervision.
To make sure we're a good fit for each other, please email me to schedule a free phone consultation. From there, we'll meet online on Zoom, which my clients have found to be very convenient and effective. I look forward to speaking with you!

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
Many people, like my clients, are intelligent, successful people who are functioning quite well in most areas of their lives. Because of this they may think they should be able to resolve any challenges or issues on their own. They may believe that counseling is something only "sick" people need or that it is a sign of weakness.
However, it is my belief that it takes a certain level of emotional health to know when you need help. There is no stigma in going to a doctor when you're not feeling well physically. You go because you want to take care of yourself and get healthy to carry on with your life. The same applies to going for help when you're not feeling well emotionally. Counseling can help you navigate through a difficult time. You might also find yourself growing in surprising, empowering ways!
