My Approach to Helping

Do you feel unsettled in your life, but are unsure what would make you feel better? Is your relationship stressful? When we face daily challenges, our relationships with significant others, children, colleagues, and family can change.

Sometimes we anxiously attempt to fix things. Other times we withdraw into our own heads. Although this approach is normal, it can be stressful to figure out how to move forward. My experience has taught me that having a neutral person with whom to discuss your struggles can be very helpful.

You don't have to figure everything out on your own. Don't wait another day. Contact me to set up a meeting time. You don't have to deal with this alone. Together we can alleviate the concerns and stress you face. I look forward to working with you.

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

I have heard people both personally and professionally worry about the therapy process. It's always important that you share with your therapist any concerns or questions that you have for them.

As a part of my practice, I will ask you if you have been to therapy before or not and if so, what worked well for you and what did not. If you haven't been to therapy before, I want to know if you have any concerns both as we start working working together and then as we move forward through the therapy process.

The most important part of therapy is that you feel comfortable with your therapist, so choose someone that you can share any concerns with should they arise.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Therapy addresses the most important part of our well-being, our emotional well-being. When we don't feel like ourselves or we are overwhelmed or worried, nothing else functions well. This can affect our relationships with our family, children, significant others, colleagues and cause us to struggle way more than we need to.

Most people see a therapist at some point in their life, just like most of us will go see our medical doctor from time to time. Seeking out help is a sign of strength, not a sign of weakness. The absolute best thing you can do for yourself is take good care of your emotional well-being.
