My Approach to Helping
The Creative Therapy Center uses Dr. Byron Norton's model of Experiential Play Therapy, where the child directs their session. Directive Play Therapy is used in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Other models are used such as drama therapy techniques and art therapy techniques. When working with adolescents and adults, The Creative Therapy Center offers traditional talk therapy and counseling as well as Sand Tray Therapy, which allows the client to discover their innermost feelings and thoughts while keeping a therapeutic distance.
