My Approach to Helping
I would like to help you attain the life you would like and work through the issues that are blocking you from enjoying that life. I work with adults, adolescents, couples and families, assisting you with issues such as depression, anxiety, communication problems and other obstacles you may face. I came into the field of psychotherapy because I enjoy helping people. I believe that each person has a natural potential that we can actualize and through which we can find meaning. I respect that each person has a subjective experience and the capacity to make positive and constructive conscious choices.
My approach to therapy is integrative, incorporating client-centered and humanistic theories along with cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and EMDR as appropriate for each client. I am accepting and non-judgmental, and I provide a safe environment to allow you to explore your feelings and work toward your goals. I have worked with people from all walks of life, and I'm looking forward to working with you!
