My Approach to Helping

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 10 years of experience working with individuals and couples on a wide array of issues and problems.

I see my work with you as an opportunity to help you explore whatever it is you feel you need to work on. Don't worry if you do not know exactly what is bothering you or why. It is not unusual "not to know".

You may be finding that your moods have changed,or you just have the "blues". Some of the most common things that people come to therapy to deal with include stress,anxiety,depression, trauma and relationship issues.

You don't have to worry that your problem is either too big or too small as people come to therapy to explore the big stuff along with things like career issues,life transitions, motherhood,parenting,and many others. Most likely,your problems will not be strange or unfixable.

I am confident that I can help you to make positive,lasting changes that will improve your life and your relationships. I can say this because I have been doing this a long time--counseling individuals,couples & families who want to grow, change and enjoy a peaceful and fulfilling life and they have succeeded. In addition to my training as a counselor, I have life experiences that have given me tools that reach beyond my education. I learned a lot in school but I am also a daughter, sister, mother, wife and friend. I have navigated many of the issues you face and work daily to maintain the health of my own long-term marriage (yes, you have to work at it every day).

If you have difficulty putting things into words,I have training in the expressive arts and have been certified as a Poetry Therapist with the National Association of Poetry Therapy.

I do not accept insurance but I do offer a sliding scale. My fees range from $125-$175
