I am a seasoned clinical social worker and psychotherapist who has worked extensively with individuals, couples and families through both developmental struggles as well as traumatic life crises. In the therapeutic process, I focus with clients on identifying strengths and developing resilience in the face of challenging problems. Trust and safety are the bedrock of the therapeutic relationship, and my clients value the caring, respect and experience I offer. Our work includes clarifying the troubling issues, determining treatment goals, and exploring both the obstacles as well as the pathways to reaching those goals. My career includes being a supervising clinician at Children's Hospital Boston, the director of psychosocial services at area hospices, and the patient services manager at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I have worked with people throughout the life cycle and with a breadth of issues that includes parenting and relationships, as well as illness and grief.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I feel particularly adept at helping people deal with the dying and death of a loved one whether currently or in their past.
In addition, I am very experienced in dealing with issues of parenting from early childhood to adulthood with emphasis on the milestones or turning points that change and often challenge the parent-child relationship.
