My Approach to Helping

My approach is foremost collaborative and respectful while we explore a client's history, life shaping events and goals and decide on the course of therapy that best fits their needs. Many of my clients are struggling with depression or anxiety or trauma symptoms and they may be aware of the source of their distress but are helpless to change it. Others engage in behaviors which are causing them or their loved ones pain. And still others may feel a sense of emptiness or distance in their relationships and want to feel joyful and connected again.I have found that such clients greatly benefit from the ego state therapy we do and as a result report that they are no longer triggered by past wounding experiences and are able to achieve the results they came into therapy seeking. Goals such as increased confidence, self-esteem, cessation of nightmares, obsessive thoughts and/or behaviors, increased positive mood and a sense of joy and fulfillment within. DNMS (Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy) or EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) or Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and a person's willingness to do the work are what enable this to happen in most cases in a relatively short period of time.
