My Approach to Helping

I specialize in helping individuals, couples and families improve their relationships using an electic approach that combines cognitive, behavioral, interactive and insight-oriented psychotherapy. I engage my clients in lively encounters and role playing to develop their communication skills and stimulate the awareness that leads to new ways of approaching old problems. I find that looking below surface level interactions opens the way for rapid change. This combination of increased awareness and improved communication skills creates a context for the eventual acceptance of oneself and others needed for the development of more fulfilling relationships.

More Info About My Practice

I have extensive post-graduate training in family therapy from the California School of Marital and Family Therapy and more than three decades of experience as a Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice in the San Francisco Bay Area. I live in a rural setting with my husband where I spend much of my time working as a professional artist doing mixed media collages. I have two married stepchildren, four grandchildren and a son who is a senior in college.
