My Approach to Helping
My approach focuses on helping people acknowledge the wisdom within themselves to create their own path to happiness and well being. I work with adolescents and adults on depression, stress, anxiety, addiction, self-esteem, abuse, trauma and relationships.
Our past experiences have such an impact on our present beliefs, thoughts, feelings and behaviors and sometimes we need some guidance to find how we can be more mindful about the decisions we make for ourselves. You can learn to create different choices for yourself as you build self awareness and the acknowledgment that you are unlimited in your ability to heal wounds from past experiences regardless of the perceived barriers.
Along with more traditional therapeutic approaches and if appropriate, I can integrate mindfulness through gentle yoga postures and breathing techniques into our work together. I truly believe the mind-body connection is essential to creating self-awareness and is a key component to personal change and growth.
I practice individual, couples and family counseling with the intention that each individual feel safe, supported and that their time was well spent. I invite you to explore how you can create the change you need in your life and define what well being means to you.
