My Approach to Helping

It is my belief that the therapeutic relationship is central to change in psychotherapy. I work to create a safe space where people can begin to trust and collaborate on their therapy. Bringing care, respect, kindness and hope to my work, I engage actively in the therapeutic process. As clients mobilize existing and latent strengths, they learn new ways to manage their problems and transform their lives. I draw on various theoretical frameworks, including pschodynamic, trauma and attachment theories, and I offer Hypnosis, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and TFT, as well. Each individual's needs and preferences determine the nature of the therapy. I have extensive experience working with trauma. I am well-trained in trauma theory and in the most current trauma techniques. To help trauma survivors create healthier relationships, I work with them as couples as well as individually.
