My Approach to Helping

I have a two-fold specialty, both of which are close to my heart. The first is couples who are experiencing problems due to past relationships. My goal is to get you out of therapy as soon as possible because long-term success depends on your ability to work together as a PAIR, not a three-some. To that end, we will on skills and tools. Our work will be pretty intense; please be prepared to work hard. (Note: I do not work with couples where there is an active affair or addiction that is not being treated.) Secondly, on the individual front, I work with individuals with anxiety due to life circumstances and/or as a result of being a crime victim. In the initial phase of our work together, our goal will be crisis intervention--alleviating enough of the anxiety to help you function better in daily life. This then leads into the next phase where we we will work on deeper mental well-being.

More Info About My Practice

I am currently working on my Ph.D. Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University. I earned my M.A. in Applied Behavioral Science from the Leadership Institute of Seattle through Bastyr University. I am a member of the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT), American Psychological Association, the Society for the Exploration of Psychological Integration, and the West Seattle Chamber of Commerce. Outside of school and my private practice, I give presentations internationally, do research, write articles for publication, and attend many educational workshops. I get incredible joy as both the editor-in-chief of Washington Psychologist, the publication of the Washington State Psychological Association where I am also a council member; and as a member of the editorial board for Contemporary Sexuality, a publication for AASECT professionals. My office is dog-friendly and ADA compliant. 50-minute sessions are $90 and I currently only have office hours on Thursdays.
