My Approach to Helping
I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families in a general counselling context. This includes assisting individuals with concerns regarding depression, anxiety, trauma, and life transitions brought about through changes in the work and/or home situation. Additionally, I have worked with the Alberta Court system providing Brief Conflict Intervention counselling for families regarding issues related to divorce/separation. I also have performed various types of assessments for family situations and/or individuals.

In terms of my therapeutic orientation, I work collaboratively with individuals through questioning and discussion, as well as incorporating the body/mind interplay. This can strictly involve talk therapy or incorporate body-focused experiential processes. My intention is placed upon assisting clients toward self-empowerment within individual lives and circumstances.

More Info About My Practice
In therapeutic practice, my orientation represents an integrative approach conjoining relevant techniques that align with the client's individual worldview. My intention is to incorporate learned (as well as ongoing learning) and experience to assist the individual to reflect and deepen their own self-knowledge with the hope of an outcome of change in the direction that is purposeful and beneficial for the client.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

One area of expertise is the result of brief conflict intervention work developed by working with couples, individuals, and families to assist them in dealing with the conflictual and paradoxical nature of their family interaction. Assisting individuals and families with how to change dynamics within family or any relationship requires the ability to move parties through the conflict into a more harmonic exchange. To accomplish this parties are supported within the conflict by containing the experience so that they are exposed to and thereby gain better understanding of their particular role; as well as providing avenues to change this pattern in order to increase effective communication. Past experiential practice, as well as ongoing reading and seminar involvement facilitates me in developing a comprehensive and effective method to assist individuals/couples with beneficial life-skill development.
