I took a leap into the dark when I decided to get married within a week of meeting my husband. 10 years later, we are still happily married and my instincts were definitely right. Knowing yourself is as important as knowing the other person. If one has a tendency to be unsure about people and situations, serious decisions should be given reasonable time.

when you really know yourself it is easier to make those kinds of decisions and know that ultimately you are doing the right thing.

I must agree that taking that unknown leap is very scary and we tend to stick to what we know and is comfortable for us. I really believe that if we just take the chance for change, something better may come along, but it's getting over the fear of failure or something not exactly working out when we do take that leap. I so often dreamed of doing many things, but really didn't know about how to do it or if it would even work out.

My gut feelings have definitely been correct on many occasions. There have been times when I have been wrong as well. I trust my gut feelings most of the time with my relationships with people. I take my time with all my career decision making as I know sometimes guts wont necessarily bring me glory!!

This article really was interesting. It is hard for me to change. It took me 2 to 3 years to get up the courage and find a different job. Once I did and was hired, I was happier than I had been in a long time. I couldn't explain the joy or happiness I felt. All too often, we ignore that inner intuition, which we need to listen to more often

It is so important to follow that inner intuition. Call it your sixth sense I suppose but there are times when you just know whether something is right for you or not. I think this is one of the strongest reasoning skills that we all possess but so few of us really listen when we are trying to be told something by our inner self.

This story really speaks to me because I know that I am one of those who always takes the comfortable route because I am afraid of what lies ahead on the road I have never been on before. I know that this at times has held me back, kept me from achieveing goals that I had established for myself very early in life. I do not know why I am this way but I am very scared and resistant to change and this in many ways has haunted me for much of my adult life. I applaud your resilience and strength and am looking for ways to increase these attributes in myself because I know that they could make some very positive changes for me.
