A GoodTherapy.org Announcement

On Thursday, December 9th, GoodTherapy.org hosted our first live Public Web Conference, How to Know If You’ve Found the Right Therapist, free for the public! Presented by GoodTherapy.org’s CEO and Founder, Noah Rubinstein, LMFT, this Web Conference was designed to help participants understand factors that are important when evaluating your therapist (or potential therapist). In this live Web Conference, participants learned more about how therapy works, and how to become better equipped to differentiate between healthy and unhealthy therapy. If you missed the event, a recording of this event will be available on the event page two weeks from today.

If you attended the Web Conference and have additional questions, please feel free to continue the discussion by leaving a comment below. Thanks for joining us!

The more, the merrier. We GoodTherapy visitors could help by inviting as many people as we can to this. Let’s all support this excellent website and help spread the word. Digg it, Tweet it, add it to Facebook etc. I will be doing whatever I can to give back.

Certainly sounds like it will be worth checking this out

Good luck with the web conference, GoodTherapy! I hope it all goes smoothly.

You’re an inspiration, Alexander. :) I have plans that day but I’m happy to do my bit to help promote the web conference and share this news with friends.

Good idea! I shall too. Here’s to a very successful and productive talk and discussion at Good Therapy on Dec 9th.

  • Mindy December 4th, 2010 at 7:36 PM #6

That’s a very valuable topic to kick these free web conferences off with too! We could all certainly do with knowing how to pick a suitable therapist. Thanks for introducing this initiative.

I have always had the theory that you just know when something is right but this may offer more insight than just that of intuition. Sounds good for anyone who might be thinking of adding a therapy regimen to their lives.

Great news! I’m very excited about this announcement. Thank you, Good Therapy!

This is a great way to educate people. Some people do not know or care much about therapy and those who do , do not know how to find a therapist that is good for them. This kind of a thing is bound to help.

  • Cam December 6th, 2010 at 10:49 AM #10

Lots of info to be gleaned from a session like this- hope it is very well attended

  • sasha December 6th, 2010 at 11:24 AM #11

done! ive registered for this and am really looking forward to this webinar because my sister is looking for a therapist and im hoping to gain some knowledge from this.

  • Elle December 6th, 2010 at 3:06 PM #12

It would be fantastic to have some guidance before selecting a therapist. How can an ordinary person judge who’ll be good to work with and who won’t? I guess we’ll find out!

  • UpJump December 6th, 2010 at 3:38 PM #13

I was thinking the same thing Elle. It can be very tough for a person to judge especially so when he or she is having trouble , which is the reason why he or she is looking for a therapist in the first place.

  • Portia December 6th, 2010 at 8:55 PM #14

Excellent! I’ve marked it on my calendar and told the family to give me peace during the web conference. My spare room that houses my computer will be out of bounds for the duration of it. I don’t want to miss a thing!

  • Constance December 8th, 2010 at 7:38 PM #15

I wanted to pop in to say good luck with the big event tomorrow! :)

  • Rosa December 10th, 2010 at 8:31 AM #16

Missed this one but I will be looking forward to another from you guys. BTW you’re doing a great job by spreading his knowledge that otherwise is not available anywhere.

  • Tina Gilbertson December 10th, 2010 at 2:02 PM #17

I attended this conference and thought it was excellent. The information was thorough, thoughtful and balanced.
Noah, I think the reason there were not more questions is that you covered the bases so well and so clearly that a ton of questions weren’t needed.
I appreciated the personal anecdotes you included; those are always fascinating to hear about.
    Kudos and thank you!
