My Approach to Helping
Many of my clients are highly sensitive, empathic, or intuitive. They experience life deeply and don't always feel easily understood by others. Sensitives are often highly intelligent and observant, they are creative spirits but they may feel they lack the "tough skin" it seems to take to survive in our world. Despite their deep care for others, they themselves may feel invisible and sometimes accept relationships or friendships they think they should want. In their work life, they may shy away from competition and accept positions at a lower rank than what they are capable of or qualified for. Sensitives may spend much of their lifetime trying to figure out where they belong, so they can show up to their own life fully and genuinely.
The trauma of sensitive people takes on complex shapes, and often can be traced back through their lineage. Yet they want to speak to the different parts of their experience, and find a way to live that honors all of it. That's the work that I offer.
I am a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and a Certified Philosophical Counselor, and I work at the intersection of sensitivity and trauma. I am licensed to provide psychotherapy to clients from California, and offer integrative inner work to clients worldwide. My own international background enables me to understand and work within different cultural contexts. I offer sessions in English and in German.
