My Approach to Helping

Congratulations on taking the first step to your well-being! I look forward to meeting & guiding you towards healing & a new way of living!

Hello! I’ve been a therapist for over 18 years with a passion and commitment to help clients overcome addiction andor mental health issues. During my time, I have worked with diverse populations and developed expertise in various treatment modalities.

My primary focus is working with adults struggling with addiction, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, self-esteem, life transitions, and interpersonal challenges. Using evidence-based practices, I utilize distinct, culturally-appropriate, multidimensional interventions based on client needs and goals.

Having a positive therapeutic experience starts with a trusting relationship. My approach is to motivate and challenge my client’s potential so that through hard work and self-determination they can achieve the level of success and happiness they deserve.

Clients have described me as compassionate, motivating, caring, committed and displaying a sense of humor, while being challenging, direct and honest throughout the process. By giving clients my undivided attention, education, guidance, empathy and empowerment, I create a supportive, safe, non-judgmental space where they can process emotions and experience interpersonal changes in their journey of healing and growth.

My clients work on gaining insight about their dysfunctional patterns of thinkingbehaving. Clients learn to focus on finding solutions by identifying their strengthspast successes to address challenges or conflict that may be hindering them from achieving desired goals, emotional well-being and healthy interpersonal relationships.

Therapy can be an emotionally painful and difficult process and seeking professional help takes courage, motivation and desire to change. But with a supportive relationship, commitment and time, therapy can also be an empowering and rewarding investment in transforming your unhealthy patterns of thinking and behaving and achieving emotional healing, interpersonal growth and healthy relationships. Our experiences and life narratives are unique. However, we possess the ability to imagine and act upon new life choices and design a new vision of ourselves.

It would be a privilege to work alongside you through your journey to better emotional and mental health!

More Info About My Practice

My experience enables me to offer effective outpatient, psychological care for individuals experiencing either mental health issues, substance use disorders or both. I provide individual, family and couples psychotherapy. Sessions are offered in-person or via telehealth. Walking therapy is also available based on individual needs and comfort level.

Walking the Talk Therapy is a form of therapy that is a little outside of the box – it is therapy while walking instead of having sessions in an office. You and your therapist are walking in an area you choose together, such as a nearby park or local trails. There are many benefits to this form of therapy. A few of the obvious ones are that you are getting fresh air and being active in a healthy way. Walking therapy also aids with a person’s ability for introspection and insight, allows for more creative solutions to problems, assists with quicker processing of issues and helps with reducing anxiety and depression.
