My Approach to Helping

Many of us receive messages from the culture, our families, or from other significant experiences that it is not okay to be who we are or to have the emotions we have, and that we must put on a mask to be accepted and lovable. Liberation, opportunity, and relief comes when we can become aware of the beliefs that are no longer serving us, and make changes to step unapologetically into the power our unique selves. I will work with you to reclaim your authentic self, move through difficult feelings and uncover the lessons they may carry, and to honor your own needs and desires and communicate them to others.

My approach is collaborative and client-centered. I offer a therapy space where you will be safe, accepted, and cared for just as you are. I will meet you where you are and also provide direct feedback when appropriate. I draw on mindfulness to tune into what is alive in the moment and to explore how not just your mind but your body holds the story of your past.

Together we will hold and validate your wounds, the strengths that carried you through, and your aspirations for the future. We will release layers from the cocoon of shame, fear, and unworthiness, discovering who you are when these burdens fall away. I would be honored to walk with you on your journey towards meaning, wholeness, and a life well-lived.

I also have a specialty working with men. As a man who strives to embody a strong, balanced, and vibrant masculinity rooted in integrity, I’ve done deep personal and group work around male identity and development. It is an honor for me to work with men to address issues such as:

I also offer treatment for insomnia using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for insomnia (CBT-i). My gentle and effective approach will help you regain trust in your natural ability to sleep. This pill-free method is perfect for those who have tried everything (even conventional CBT-i), but nothing has worked in the long-term to restore good-quality sleep.
