My Approach to Helping
As a registered psychotherapist, I have dedicated my practice to helping individuals work through challenging life circumstances and heal from painful past experiences. I provide psychotherapy for a wide range of symptoms and presenting problems, such as trauma, ( e.g. due to childhood abuse; relational trauma; domestic violence) depression; anxiety ( general anxiety, health anxiety); anger, and grief. Other issues that I treat include relationship issues; insecure attachment styles; chronic stress, and chronic painillness and disability. I am also experienced in supporting individuals to cope with difficult life transitions.
I completed my Masters's degree in counseling psychology at the University of Toronto. I have worked in the mental health field for 10+ years. I integrate methods borrowed from Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT and EFIT); Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT); Psychodynamic therapies; Somatic therapies, and Mindfulness-based therapies into my treatment plan.
I treat teen and adults. Within a therapeutic relationship, I hope to provide you with compassion, empathy, patience, and validation. My work is anti-oppressive and culturally sensitive. I will tailor my treatment approaches to fit your individual needs. I offer virtual and in-person sessions. Feel free to contact me for a free phone consultation.
