My Approach to Helping
I believe in the importance of the client/therapist relationship so my approach to therapy is based upon connection. I utilize an eclectic, holistic approach to therapy as I have been trained to treat a person as a whole being. Everything that affects one area of the person affects all areas of the person: mind, body, emotions and spirit. I utilize various tools from effective counseling methods, including life coaching, in order to tailor therapy to the individual person's needs. I am a Christian so I offer Christian counseling where that is desired. I am passionate about helping people, through professional counseling and life coaching, to reach their goals and overcome life challenges in a caring, nonjudgmental therapeutic relationship.

My Role as a Therapist
As a therapist I consider my role similar to that of an empathetic friend with the additional benefit of training and experience in the fields of psychology, neurobiology and mental health. I am a professional but also care about you as a person with needs, challenges, relationships and stressors to good mental and emotional health.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
My personal journey toward mental and emotional health have included many struggles with issues such as recovery from abuse, divorce, codependency, single parenting and family of origin issues. I believe that my personal experience enhances my training and professional experience and thereby helps me to be an empathetic and non-judgmental therapist.
