My Approach to Helping
I am here to help you with figuring out the best ways to overcome depression, anxiety, trauma or relationship difficulties. In our first session, I will take time to listen to your story, explore your goals for coming to counseling and the best ways to reach them. If you are seeking therapy for PTSD or other trauma induced symptoms, I hope to provide a safe place for you to process past traumatic events with the goal of gaining new insight and gaining control over your symptoms. If you are seeking counseling for anxiety, we will spend time exploring the origins of your fears, examine the triggers for your anxiety, and come up with a plan on how to take small steps in conquering your fears. If you struggle with OCD, I can help you to develop skills to tolerate uncertainty and distress, face your fears, and decrease your obsessive thoughts and compulsions. If you are seeking counseling for depression, I will help you learn how to find meaning, experience joy, and connect with others. If you are seeking marriage counseling, I will work with you and your spouse in rebuilding your friendship, reestablishing trust, practicing healthy conflict resolution skills, and rekindling your love for each other. I have experience and am passionate in helping couples that are going through the affair recovery. I also help individuals to improve their relationships by learning how to communicate better, how to have a secure attachment, and how to be best self in the relationships.
