My Approach to Helping
Whatever it is that brings you here, therapy can help you cultivate self-compassion, emotional awareness, balance, and choice. The symptoms you may be experiencing are not because something is wrong with you. I believe that anxiety, depression, shame, and low self-esteem are reasonable responses to living in our society. You may also be experiencing the effects of past trauma, social isolation, or a caregiver that was simply not attuned to your needs.
I believe that therapy is a collaborative space that nurtures insight and growth. This healing and supportive relationship can be a profound experience and empower you to transform problematic relationship patterns. I work with clients to identify and explore how the past informs the present, and promote acceptance and change.
For couples and intimate partnerships, I specialize in helping you communicate better, increase emotional andor sexual intimacy, navigate conflicts in a healthier and more productive way, and cultivate compassion and understanding. I welcome monogamous, non-monogamous, polyamorous, kink, and other non-normative relationships.
