My Approach to Helping

I believe that people are resourceful, and have found ways to help themselves and others in their lives - ways that often become submerged in the day to day issues, or are overshadowed by crises and hardships. Our work includes identifying immediate needs and goals, as well as proven strategies for achieving relief and forward progress. Then, deeper understanding and creativity becomes more likely. I respect clients as the experts and authors of their own lives.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Having focused academically on lifespan development issues, both as a student and as a college instructor, developmental transitions fascinate me, and I am always honored to be invited to witness and accompany individuals as they journey through transitions in their lives. Emerging adults - twentysomethings in particular, as well as parents engaged in raising minor children, are particularly dynamic as they change and grow. However, all clients who are taking stock of themselves and ready to challenge the status quo are exciting to work with.
