My Approach to Helping
Seeking a good fit in a therapist and beginning therapy can be both joyful and challenging.
Exploring the truth is a courageous step towards self healing and I am here to support you on the journey.
I truly believe that residing in each of us is a drive to flourish and seek health. To reorient towards wellness. My mission is to help you, via a warm and interactive style, feel deeply understood and connected as you gain awareness of your own unique drive and healing process.
My approach includes listening, fostering self-acceptance, and humor as some of the tools to help you discover, gain understanding, and eventually minimize counterproductive patterns in your life that are standing in the way of reaching your goals.
The goal is for you to leave our first meeting feeling heard and supported. I help with anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, major life transitions and many other stressors of today’s world. I look forward to hearing from you. Stacey
More Info About My Practice
I often incorporate EMDR therapy in my practice.
What is EMDR?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a short-term therapy used to treat people who have suffered for years from anxiety or distressing memories, nightmares, abuse and other traumatic events.
Research shows that EMDR is a rapid and safe treatment for a wide range of disorders. These include:
. Post Taumatic Stress
. Phobias
. Panic attacks
. Depression
. Abuse
. Anxiety
. Panic disorders
. Performance anxiety
. Disturbing memories
EMDR therapy is a very powerful therapeutic technique that helps to heal at the deepest level. Incorporating EMDR therapy has transformed my clinical practice in working with those who struggle with an emotional attachment to food, eating disorders, negative body image, anxiety and PTSD. EMDR therapy allows a reduction in emotional and physical distress, increased self-awareness and a renewed perspective on the present moment. I have been especially inspired by the power of EMDR when people feel a deeper sense of self-acceptance both internally and externally. This renewed self-acceptance and awareness creates a deeper connection to the core of you being as well as a sense of balance and peace within.
