My Approach to Therapy

You’ve checked all the boxes—you’ve achieved success in school and in your career. From the outside, things may look good. But internally, you may feel anxious, burnt out, or unfulfilled, and unsure why. You might struggle with perfectionism, overthinking, or feeling disconnected from what you truly want. The idea of changing course can feel selfish—or even risky—and may bring up guilt. In therapy, we’ll explore your values and work toward bringing your life into closer alignment with them. We’ll examine the patterns and coping strategies you’ve developed—many of which once helped you succeed—but may no longer be serving you. Together, we’ll build greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and flexibility so you can feel more grounded, connected, and at ease. I provide individual psychotherapy in Oakland for professionals and students seeking relief from anxiety, depression, burnout, low self-esteem, and relationship challenges. I offer in-person therapy in Oakland and work with clients throughout California via telehealth. My approach is insight-oriented and relational, while also offering practical tools to help you regulate stress, set boundaries, and create meaningful, lasting change.

My Practice & Services

I see clients in-person at my Rockridge, Oakland that is BART-accessible. I also see clients by telehealth. I offer a compassionate, passionate, and integrated approach to psychotherapy. My style is active, authentic, nonjudgmental, and supportive. I work with individuals in distress to help relieve suffering and address the underlying issues causing pain. I work collaboratively with you to improve self-awareness, develop insight, and learn new ways of coping with life stressors to facilitate healing and growth.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

I believe that participate in psychotherapy can help an individual better understand, process and work-through difficult life experiences within the context of a safe and supportive relationship. Psychotherapy can also help people put words to experiences and problems that can be hard to articulate and feel less alone in navigating their problems. Sometimes psychotherapy can help an individual resolve a problem or symptoms and other times psychotherapy can help a person better cope with a problem that may not be able to be resolved.
