My Approach to Helping

Hi! My name is Sheron Gershelis and I’m here to help you through your current stress and anxiety
I can tell that you’re going through a lot right now. Your job is overwhelming you and even though you like it or you need it, you just feel like you can’t keep going on this way. You feel run down and dragged out and no matter what you do it doesn’t seem to be getting any better.

Maybe you’re someone who is struggling with anxiety about their life in general or about something entirely different in your life. Maybe it’s a relationship or decisions that you’re trying to make for yourself and your family.

No matter what you’re experiencing, you’re starting to feel like you just can’t keep it all together. You may feel like too many people are counting on you for you to fall apart now. But at the same time you don’t know how you’re going to keep yourself from doing just that.

You know you want something more and something better for your life. You’re just not sure what that ‘better’ is or how to get it. Luckily, there is help out there for you. All you need to do is reach out to it. And that’s where I come in.

I am here to help you. Here to listen to your stressors and everything that’s happening in your life and help you navigate and find a path forward, to the life that you want to live. One that you will be happy to live.

I help young adults and adults to navigate the difficult periods in their lives and the anxiety that may feel overwhelming at times to create a more cohesive path forward to the life they want.
My clients are suffering from anxiety in their lives. Whether it’s the anxiety of choices that they have made or want to make or the anxiety of moving forward in ways that may seem entirely contrary to their previous life.

Perhaps the anxiety you’re experiencing is something that others have told you is ‘normal’ or ‘just what happens.’ You may have been told that ‘everyone has bad days’ or ‘you just have to deal with it until you graduateretire.’

The truth is that everyone does have bad days. And experiencing a ‘bad day’ is entirely normal. But there are levels at which you should seek assistance in dealing with those bad days. If you experience ‘bad days’ frequently then chances are there’s something more serious going on.

If your ‘normal’ day is filled with anxiety and stress then you may want to reach out to a professional to find out more about what’s going on. It is ‘normal’ to have a rough day every so often or to feel small amounts of anxiety when you’re making a big decision or stepping into a new part of your life.

But you don’t need to go through even those ‘normal’ levels of anxiety alone. And if you find yourself with more bad days or more anxious days than not then you should definitely seek out someone who can help you learn the coping skills that you need.

I can work with you to create a plan and a path forward that works for you. We will walk together on your journey toward the solution that you need for your specific situation, because it’s going to be different for everyone. In providing empowerment, compassion, empathy, and support, I will help you to find the answer that will work for you, and develop the strengths you need to achieve it.

Therapy for Anxiety
Anxiety can look widely different… whether it’s generalized anxiety, relationship anxiety, social anxiety, phobia, anxiety attack, or panic, I am here to help.

While small amounts of anxiety in a given month, week, or even day are considered relatively ‘normal’ there are levels at which anxiety stops being a typical part of your life and turns into something more. When it is interfering with your ability to live your life and enjoy the different aspects of it then you are definitely hurting yourself and your future happiness.

Unfortunately, many people brush off anxiety, even when it becomes more serious, because they assume that’s ‘just the way things are’ or they think that acknowledging that their anxiety is ‘too much’ makes them weak. Neither of these is the case and instead, you deserve to get the help you need to enjoy your life again.

My clients and I work together through the journey from where you are now to where you want to be. And we do this by exploring their anxiety, triggers, and the impact of that anxiety on their life to discover and reach toward their own answers.

Therapy for Burnout and Life & Work Balance
Burnout can happen to anyone and it can happen at any time. Whether you felt like you were working in your dream job or you always knew you wanted more, you can easily find yourself feeling overwhelmed and tired of the experiences you’re facing in your job.

Those who are struggling to find a balance that works for them and their family between the time they spend at work and the time they spend at home may have a similar problem. You may like your job but feel guilty for the amount of time you’re not spending with your family. Or you may hate your job but feel like you’re constantly tied to it with no way out. Or you might fall somewhere in the middle.

My clients and I work to figure out what is causing your burnout or why you’re feeling like your work life and home life aren’t meshing well. Then, we come up with a plan for what would make you feel happier or more comfortable. We decide what a healthy work life and a healthy home life look like to you and determine a path forward where you can achieve both of those simultaneously.

Therapy for Navigating Young Adulthood
As you’re starting to come into your own and become an adult who is responsible for their own life it can be difficult to understand everything that’s happening around you. You may feel yourself pulled in several different directions by the different people in your life and all of them are important to you. This can make it even more difficult for you to understand what it is that you want most for your life.

Struggling to even know what your own vision for your future is can mean that you find yourself on a path you don’t want to be on. But you don’t have to stay on that path. Whether it’s a ‘good’ or ‘bad’ path will depend on a number of factors, and only you can make that decision for yourself. I will help you to evaluate your options and decide what you want moving forward.

My clients explore the different ways that their life is their own and the different ways that they may be feeling out of control in their own life. Then, I work with them to design the journey so that they reach the destination that they want rather than the destination that others are looking to push them toward.

My Approach: Life is a Journey of Your Own Making
I am here to help you down your path and aid you in creating it. I know that you are the only one who can design the path that makes the most sense to you and your goals for the future and that it is not the same as anyone else’s path. But my goal is to be there with you and to help you decide what you want and how to get it.

The journey of your life begins with you acknowledging that you are ready to reach out for help and I will be there with you, every step of the way. In order to do that, I will provide you with a safe, fulfilling and enjoyable environment where we will learn the skills you need to make your way forward, without letting your anxiety hold you back.
