My Approach to Helping
My approach is relaxed, intentional, and creative and tailored to what works best for you. I will take the time to get to know you, help you meet your goals, and build on your strengths. Together, we'll identify practical ways to manage difficult emotions and bring a bit more calm to your life. I specialize in Client-Centered Play Therapy and Expressive Arts and draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches to best help each client. I have experience helping children, teens, and young adults navigate a variety of issues and major life changes. I love seeing clients successfully navigate their challenges and celebrate their victories. It's okay to take your time moving forward in this process. Do you have questions? Want to make sure I'm a good fit for you? I would love to talk with you more about the process and how I might be able to help. Growth, change and healing take time. I'm happy to provide an introduction to the process before you commit.
More Info About My Practice
Before I discovered my passion for counseling, I worked in the music industry and was pursuing a career as a musical artist here in Nashville. I also struggled with significant anxiety and ADHD. Through growing and learning how to cope with my challenges in my own therapy, I realized I wanted to help others in the same way that my therapist had helped me. I have experienced first hand the pain that mental health challenges can bring and how impactful therapy can be. After graduating from Lipscomb, I worked as a school based contract counselor in the Nolensville and Thompson’s Station communities. I learned so much from my work with elementary, middle and high school students with a variety of issues, backgrounds and personalities. Outside of the therapy office, I enjoy going on adventures with my wife and our sweet rescue dog, hanging out with friends and family, going on hikes with my dad, golfing, cooking new recipes, and playing guitar.
