What's My Approach to Therapy?

If you’ve landed here, you might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted from carrying the weight of things that happened long ago but still feel very present. Maybe you’ve been told you’re “too sensitive,” or you’ve gotten really good at keeping it together on the outside while feeling completely disconnected on the inside. You might be wondering if healing is even possible, or if therapy will just be another place where you have to explain yourself.

I want you to know you don’t have to do this alone.

I help people heal from both the obvious wounds and the harder-to-name hurts, including times when care, safety, or love were missing in relationships that mattered most. Together, we’ll explore how those early experiences may still be shaping your current patterns, emotions, and relationships. The goal is not to make your struggles into a diagnosis, but to learn about them with openness and compassion. I use approaches like parts work (Internal Family SystemsIFS), trauma-informed attachment models, and body-based tools to help you reconnect with yourself in a way that feels grounded and safe.

My style is warm, collaborative, and paced to meet you where you are. You won’t be rushed into talking about things you are not ready to share. I believe that healing happens in relationships, and I strive to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to move at your own rhythm.

In our work together, we’ll gently untangle old survival strategies, strengthen your inner resources, and build the kind of inner safety that allows real change to take root. It’s not always easy, but it is possible. And I would be honored to walk alongside you as you begin this healing journey.

My Practice & Services

I am part of Cypress Counseling Group, a collaborative therapy practice based in Brentwood, Tennessee, that has been serving the Greater Nashville community since 2011. We are a team of dedicated clinicians who provide warm, client-centered care for individuals, couples, children, and families.

Our therapists offer both in-person and telehealth appointments, giving clients across Tennessee flexible access to high-quality mental health care. We each bring our own specialties and approaches, while sharing a commitment to helping clients feel safe, supported, and empowered in their healing process.

In addition to individual and couples therapy, Cypress Counseling Group offers child and adolescent therapy, parenting support, and trauma-informed care for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and grief. Some of our clinicians also provide intensives and group therapy. Current offerings include a Core Emotions Group for Women and an online weekly processing group.

We are an out-of-network private pay practice and can provide superbills for insurance reimbursement. Fees vary by clinician, typically ranging from $125–$250 per session, with some sliding scale options available. You can learn more about our team and services on our website.

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

If you have had a negative therapy experience, I understand how much trust it takes to try again. I have been there myself, and I know how discouraging it can feel when therapy leaves you unheard or unsupported. My approach is gentle, collaborative, and free of judgment. In our work together, your story is honored, your choices are respected, and you will receive both the care and the tools you need for today. If you are ready to try again, I would be honored to walk with you toward the healing you deserve.

Groups I Work With

I provide trauma therapy in Nashville, Tennessee, for adults navigating the lasting effects of complex trauma, childhood emotional neglect, and relational wounding. Many of my clients are working professionals, parents, helpers, and creatives who appear high-functioning on the outside but feel anxious, disconnected, or overwhelmed internally. I specialize in supporting those experiencing symptoms of complex posttraumatic stress (PTSD), emotional dysregulation, chronic anxiety, dissociation, and relationship challenges rooted in early attachment injuries.

I often work with individuals who identify as people-pleasers, perfectionists, or adult children of emotionally immature, narcissistic, or enmeshed caregivers. My practice also serves those recovering from covert emotional abuse, high-control religious environments, or grief tied to identity loss and life transitions.

I am especially passionate about working with Tennessee-based entrepreneurs, artists, and therapists-in-training who are navigating burnout, identity shifts, or the emotional toll of caregiving roles. I also provide trauma-informed care to adults with attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD) and related executive functioning difficulties. While I am affirming of all neurotypes, I refer autistic clients to trusted colleagues in my office who specialize in neurodivergent-affirming therapy.

For those seeking Christian counseling, I am comfortable incorporating faith-based perspectives into the therapy process. I also welcome clients from all belief systems and spiritual backgrounds and strive to create a space that honors your personal values, whatever they may be.

My work is inclusive of diverse cultural identities. I offer trauma therapy for individuals across Tennessee via telehealth and in-person sessions in the Nashville and Brentwood areas.
