My Approach to Helping

You're LGBTQIA+, large-bodied, or managing chronic illness and enduring depression, anxiety, or PTSD. You're a therapist dealing with burnout or mental or physical illness. Intersecting identities, oppression, and health issues are complex. You can't waste precious energy on an ignorant therapist or risk prejudice. Therapists are likely feeling stretched or burned out under converging life and work stressors. Others assume we have it handled and we feel we should too. If any of this resonates with you, as your new therapist, I GOT you! These specialties align with my life experiences and identity. Let's hit the ground running!

If you're marginalized due to body size, gender identity, sexual orientation, or chronic health conditions you will get the clarity and skills needed to be authentic, heal, and cope. I also provide letters of support for gender-affirming medical care. For therapists, I will help you feel heard, get relief, and feel re-energized at work and home.

My primary modality is Person-Centered Therapy; you will be driving your own treatment. I formally trained in DBT, which teaches useful life skills, and CPT for PTSD treatment. I use a blend of many other therapies to tailor your treatment. This is a collaboration! Check out my website and schedule your free 15-minute consultation today!

More Info About My Practice

ACT, DBT, and CPT are therapies that focus on valuing your autonomy, not avoiding your pain, skill building, and embracing who you are and your challenges so that you don't add to your suffering. I encourage your authenticity and accountability inside and outside of sessions and deliver on that myself as well. I don't hold expectations of my clients that I don't hold for myself.
