My Approach to Helping
If you are unhappy, in emotional pain, feel stuck or struggling with relationships and life, then finding the right therapist is an excellent step toward feeling better. I know from personal experience that a therapist who is highly skilled and deeply caring can make an enormous difference. From your deepest pain, frustration or grief can emerge growth, strength and even joy! I will help you clarify your goals for therapy and then share specific steps you can take right away to meet those goals. I am not the expert on you and your life, nor am I the one who will make decisions about your life - you will. What I will do, however, is listen carefully, , ask clarifying questions, offer my observations, evaluate options with you, and accompany you forward on your journey until you reach your goals!

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I experience great meaning and satisfaction in my work by helping people take control of their own lives, improve their relationships, reduce stress, increase joy and feel better about themselves. Being fully present with you at an important point in your life is a both a gift and a responsibility that I take very seriously.
My Role as a Therapist
My role is not to tell you what to feel, think or do. My role is to help you figure out what you actually feel, what you really think, and what you can do to improve your life immediately!
Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance
Seeking therapy can be stressful; how do you know that you can trust and confide in someone you don't know? I understand how difficult making that first contact is and that you are reaching out in a time of vulnerability. It is my goal to receive you with respect and compassion, and to non-judgmentally understand your deepest concerns. We will then explore together options and strategies to enable you to move forward toward greater peace and happiness in your life.
