My Approach to Helping
Hi, I am Sameeha Jabbar, and I am excited to meet you here. I know what it’s like to experience, trauma, grief, to live upon auto-pilot, to put others' needs and happiness first, and to constantly live with self-doubt and insecurities. YOU own your story!! And remember, ‘when the going gets tough, the tough get going.
I love working with young adults, teens, families, and older adults to help alleviate their anxieties, trauma, hidden fears, and insecurities. I have been a social worker for 7 years and I absolutely love what I do as a clinician and therapist. I have worked in crisis for 6 years, and I have helped diverse clients to de-escalate, find hope and overcome their anxieties and fears.
As an immigrant, mother, and working woman I am able to help clients overcome their anxieties, insecurities, fears, and many challenges that immigrant women experience. I believe that women deserve to be expressive, sensitive, angry, messy, career-oriented, respected, and loved for who they are as a person.
I have worked with children diagnosed with developmental disabilities as a behavior therapist and assisted their families in parent consultation sessions.
I work with children, teens, young adults, and older adults to help them overcome their feelings of depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and relationship issues.
I utilize a variety of modalities such as CBT, acceptance and commitment therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, CBT, and DBT, stress management, applied behavior analysis, mindfulness, and play therapy. are a few modalities I use in my clinical practice. When you come to therapy to express your vulnerabilities and fears without any judgment. I will help you build skills that will enable you to identify your triggers, barriers and will focus on your strengths. I will always start from where you are.
I believe that my lived and work experiences have enabled me to work with clients from diverse populations across the globe. My experiences as well as my education and training have made me culturally competent.
Remember, your story, your struggles, and your challenges are unique to you, and YOU Matter.
