My Approach to Helping
"Change what you can, manage what you can't"-Raymond McCauley.
Samantha is a compassionate helper who has worked with many different diagnoses throughout her three years of experience in mental health. She passionately believes that every person is unique and requires a unique approach. Specializing in the treatment of trauma, anxiety, depression, and borderline personality. Samantha provides eclectic treatment, drawing from cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavioral therapies. Samantha is a connector, focusing on helping as many people as she can while reducing mental health stigma and driving for change.
To prospective clients, Samantha would say: We are two people sharing one experience, and you get to determine what we experience together. Empathy is the key component of the therapeutic relationship. Meeting you where you are, being able to give you the space to move the session at your speed, and affording you the safe space to grow and thrive.

How Psychotherapy Can Help
According to the National Institute of Mental Health, more than 25% of American adults experience depression, anxiety, or other mental health issues in any given year. A psychotherapist can help you work through such problems. Through psychotherapy, mental health providers help people live happier, healthier, and more productive lives.
In psychotherapy, mental health practitioners apply scientifically validated procedures to help people identify pain points and develop healthier, more effective habits. There are several approaches to psychotherapy?including cognitive-behavioral, dialectical behavioral, and other kinds of talk therapy?that help individuals, couples, families, and groups work through their problems.
Psychotherapy is a collaborative treatment journey founded on the relationship between an individual and a psychologist. Grounded in dialogue, it provides a safe, supportive environment that allows you to talk freely with someone who is objective, neutral, and nonjudgmental. You and your therapist will work together to identify and change the thoughts, feelings and behaviors that are keeping you from feeling your best.
By the time you complete treatment, you will not only have solved the problem that brought you in, but you will have learned new skills so you can better cope with whatever challenges arise in the future.
