My Approach to Helping
It can be really challenging to be a young person in today's world, especially as one transitions into greater independence and adulthood. You may ask yourself these questions: Who am I? What is my place in the world? Who do I want to become? How can I manage stress and these expectations? Some of the key concerns I hear from young people are: ‘I don’t really know how I feel and want to understand myself better’, ‘I’m struggling in a relationship and want to figure out how to manage this’, ‘I feel like my past experiences continue to affect me in difficult ways’, or ‘I’ve been going through a lot of changes lately and want to make sense of all of it’. Sometimes you may just feel “stuck” and unsure about how to move forward.
I believe every person has unique personal knowledge, skills, and wisdom from their lived experience. One goal of my practice is to bring more awareness to these resources and leverage them to overcome the challenges faced. I aim to create a safe, empathic, and collaborative space where we can identify what's important to you now and work together towards your goals.
I have practiced psychotherapy with young people in the mental health field for over 10 years. I feel privileged to be invited to work alongside my clients to support them in moving towards the potential they envision for themselves. If you have any questions about my service, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
