My Approach to Helping
Feeling helpless to help oneself often brings people into psychotherapy.
I help adults and adolescents with emotional issues that show up in many ways: relationship problems, anger, anxiety or depression that may not make sense or may seem unchangeable, difficulties with work or school performance, or simply feeling stuck. My approach is insight-oriented. This leads to deeper self-awareness and emotional freedom that creates lasting changes, improves and enriches lives, and lessens symptoms.
I have advanced training and certification in adult psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy. Psychoanalysis facilitates the momentum of a deeper therapeutic experience with sustainable benefits after therapy has ended.
The psychotherapeutic treatment I offer is talk therapy which allows me to hear what you are saying directly and indirectly. I use all of your communications to understand more about what you may not be fully aware of and how it is connected to your emotional discomfort and pain. Although I may be quiet at times, I interact with my patients.
