My Approach to Helping

Ragavi Mangalaruban is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who is a licensed member of the College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario (CRPO). She completed a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University in 2023. She completed a specialized post-graduate certificate in Addictions and Mental Health from Humber College in 2018 and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from York University in 2017. In addition to all of these credentials, she has continued to pursue other extensive certifications and trainings to stay up to date with the current therapeutic modalities to better support her clients.

Ragavi has gained valuable experience working as an addictions counselor for 4 years prior to pursuing a career in psychotherapy. She has applied her knowledge working in various settings including non-profit agencies/facilities, private residential homes, and withdrawal management centres. She has supported clients with a wide range of presenting concerns including addictions, mental health, concurrent disorders, life transition, trauma, and more.

Ragavi believes in creating a therapeutic rapport and alliance with her clients, which comes from a non-judgmental, active listening, and empathetic approach. Hence, she prefers an integrative therapy approach based on the client’s specific and unique needs.

A Message From The Founder At Unwind Psychotherapy.

“Despite all the chaos and ruckus happening in your life. I’m here to support and unwind with you. It is my honour to sit in the passenger seat while you take control of your life in the driver’s seat and take me through your world. Life can be complicated since we were not born with a manual, however it is too precious not to give up on. Hence why I named this practice unwind. It is okay to feel down. I can empower you to find the right answers you need by working with you collaboratively aligning your values and morals through a culturally sensitive approach. It takes a lot of courage to begin this journey and I am proud of you for taking the first step. Now fasten your seat belt, and let’s go for a drive. Together, we can work to identify and set new goals, track your progress, explore and understand the root causes, and learn new skills that can help you navigate a happier, healthier, and more fulfilling life. I believe therapy is all about you. Please do not hesitate to contact the clinic or email me to book your next session in person or virtually. I’m looking forward to meeting you to work towards your goals!” – R. Mangalaruban, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
