My Approach to Helping
I work with my clients holistically to explore how trauma shows up in our mind, body, and spirit. We work together to help you reconnect to all the parts of yourself that you may be disconnected from due to your experiences of trauma and pain. We work together to find a sense of balance and ease in your life to skillfully create the life you desire.
We would work collaboratively in weekly therapy sessions to build self-awareness by exploring stories and patterns in your life that are blocking you from living the life you want. These stories can come from our personal experiences and the messages we get from society about who we are supposed to be based on our gender, race, sexuality, ability level, and socioeconomic status.
I incorporate mindfulness and somatic practices in my work, so we may slow down the process and tap into emotions and bodily sensations arising in the moment. I integrate yoga therapy practices to build customized practices to help my clients find balance in their nervous systems. The more self-awareness you build the better able you are to make mindful choices in your life to take control of your emotions and life.
I love to laugh with my clients and find joy within the process of healing. We need to find joy in order to hold the pain and move through the difficult parts of life.
