My Approach to Helping

My intention is to consistently provide a safe place for you to examine your own needs and challenges, and to practice strategies that fit your own unique goals. I have had the privilege of working with clients struggling with many challenges, and specialize in working with adult and childhood trauma, anxiety, healthy relationships, and dissociation. At this time, online therapy sessions are offered throughout the week and weekend, including evenings. Scheduling for in-person sessions is available as well.

Throughout the therapeutic process, I utilize dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) skill-building, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). At times, we may also explore avoidance patterns, attachment styles, personality traits, and defense mechanisms.

I know the barriers trauma imposes on the human psyche, and I'm here to tell you, it doesn't have to define your story. I've had the privilege of witnessing hopelessness transform into hopefulness, surviving the shift to thriving, and exhaustion develops into enthusiasm. I look forward to hearing from you to discuss how we can work towards your goals!

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

I know how important your problems are to you, and it's critical to me that those problems are respected and cared for throughout the treatment process. I know how hard it can be to ask for help, but I am here to show up for you, just as others have shown up for me. As a therapist, I see myself as a collaborator with anyone I work with to explore the problems you're faced with, challenge unhelpful thinking and behaviors, and advance the parts that deserve a little more credit! From the moment we begin working together, I'll be in your corner, rooting for you and working through your challenges with you. You don't have to be alone in this process. Oftentimes I will say, "just because you can, doesn't mean you have to, and just because you can, doesn't mean you should."
