My Approach to Helping
I work alongside clients to help them alleviate the discomfort they feel as it relates to anxiety, depression, or trauma. I also work with couples to improve communication and emotional and spiritual intimacy. I work from a Christian Worldview and incorporate prayer, Bible reading, and devotionals in the therapy process, should clients want to incorporate their faith.

I strive to provide a welcoming and comfortable space where clients can show up authentically, ready to work, and prepared to practice real life strategies to improve their daily lives in tangible ways.
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
In the beginning, it is important to meet with the therapist weekly to establish rapport and build the therapeutic relationship. Research continues to show the importance of the relationship in the counseling process. Once progress is consistent, moving to an every other week schedule allows clients to practice what they are learning in therapy. Over the course of time, sessions become less frequent with an end goal of clients being able to effectively utilize the skills learned in therapy without the accountability of the therapist. This leads to termination. There is no way to know how long this process will take, but I work alongside my clients to create a plan for therapy and revisit that plan, as needed, as we move forward in healing.
