My Approach to Therapy

Are you in a relationship that you aren't sure is right for you? Do you find that you would like to be more connected to significant people in your life but find yourself struggling to create the intimacy you desire? It is human nature to want to be connected to other people, yet many of us put walls up and make that connection difficult. Or we may gravitate to relationships that are not healthy for us. We may continue with old habits that at some point served a purpose in our lives, but as we grow we find that the more we continue operating in the same patterns we get less of what we actually want in our relationships. I can help you identify patterns that keep you stuck and prevent you from connecting the way you would like to in your relationships. I can help you learn new ways of being in a relationship and connecting. If you are reading this you are aware that something you are doing is no longer working, something needs to change. Healing and growth are possible and you can have the relationships that you want. I view therapy as a process, a journey of discovery and learning. As your therapist I will be part of your journey by providing a nonjudgmental and supportive atmosphere. My goal is to create a safe space where you feel free to express your deepest concerns, thoughts and emotions. I believe that in order to move forward in our lives it is essential to deal with emotional pain, anxiety and stress we may be carrying. Therapy can help recognize and face unresolved pain and conflict that may be affecting you in negative ways. I believe that the client therapist relationship is the most important part of therapy. Through our relationship my hope is that you acquire an improved understanding of yourself and attain balance in your life. I can help you find the answers that lie within you. I have experience working with a wide range of issues including relationship issues, intimacy, motherhood, parenting, anxiety, life transitions, family conflicts & emotional concerns.
