My Approach to Helping
Are you someone who struggles with intense anxiety and unsure of why the things you’re doing to work through it, like cleaning, getting reassurance, telling yourself to stop, aren’t working? In relationships, do you find yourself unsure of how to respond to conflict or keep finding yourself in the same position with a significant other? Have you had something in the past that has triggered fear responses or an internal reaction to something that reminds you of that event? If any of those are you, I want you to know that I work with these cases on a daily basis and would love to get to know your situation more personally.
I can help with these certain areas because over the past two years, I have worked with severe cases of these. I have developed training in trauma therapy, exposure and response prevention, and inference-based cognitive behavioral therapy for obsessive compulsion (OCD), as well as studied attachment styles and marriage and family techniques and interventions.
My mindset in the counseling room is primarily through a cognitive behavioral therapy lens. So I will be looking at your thought processes, your emotions, your behaviors, and how all of those are interacting with the current experience you're having. I'm here to help connect puzzle pieces and also process those puzzle pieces so that it is a cathartic experience for you.
Seeking out care and help for any of these areas or more is an incredibly brave thing to do. These struggles are ones that can feel very lonely to experience and seem impossible for it to get better. I have seen many people experience freedom from these experiences and would love to help you experience that as well. Please reach out to learn more!
